My 5 Favorite Things From This Week

I love Fridays. It is my favorite day of the week. I love the mood and excitement of a Friday. Today especially, I’m looking forward to Christmas vacation with my girls. They will be home for 2 whole weeks! I love that.

As I sit here and reminisce on my week – I think how blessed I am. I had a really great week to which I give the Lord all the credit. He brought some real blessings my way this week and my heart feels full. Here are just a few of my favorite things from this week….

1. Telling my daughter that she FINALLY can have a cell phone. (It was her 13th birthday.) Reminiscing on her 13 years and feeling so much joy and thankfulness in my heart for her.

2. Winning a $50 gift card.

3. Getting a “love gift” from my sister in the mail – just because.

4. The hugs. The hugs I get and give with my girls. They never grow old and my arms never tire of them. In addition, dreaming of the hugs I will get from my "grandson" due in the Spring.

5. Getting Christmas Cards in the mail. I love opening up each one and seeing faces that are dear to my heart and reading about lives that mean a great deal to me.

Love your questions! First five things that pop into my head:

1. While visiting a friend today who gets to have a REAL tree (I can't; allergic), I was FINE! Turns out I must be allergic to only certain kinds. Yay, now we can have a real one next year!!
2. A craft project that was easy and cheap that filled the empty spot on my wall.
3. Done with lots of doctor and dental apptmts for the kids.
4. The kids are doing a few new things in school (I tweaked the schedule) and it is working well!
5. I am more joyful in years. The Lord has released me from the bondage of bitterness and miraculously restored me! He is so awesome!

Hmmmm....five favorite things.

1. That my family and I woke up healthy this morning!

2. That my friend gave me a church cookbook that she slaved over putting together.

3. That I received the Santa picture with my son and daughter on it from daycare today. Adorable!

4. That my husband bought me a new stove!

5. That my pastor has asked me to lead in a ministering opportunity in the new year.

Plenty more favorite things I could list! :) How blessed we are!

Pam - How wonderful to be released from the bondage of bitterness! What a gift - I bet you feel so free! And I'm delighted for you in discovering that you can have a real Christmas tree next year. Sometimes it's the little things that make our lives so big isn't it?

Rebecca -
What a wonderful friend you have to slave over a cookbook for you. You must feel so loved. :) And cherish that Santa picture - they grow far too quickly.
Congrats on being asked to lead in a ministering opportunity at church. I pray you will be a blessing to those who need you in that specific role & that God will flourish your faith through it.
