Meet Dionna ~ "About Me"

Meet Dionna

Welcome! I'm so glad you are here and that you want to get to know me a little bit better.  I will do my best to let you into my world a bit, and hopefully, you will leave feeling like a friend. Just envision me giving you a huge hug, and us sitting down for a hearty chat with "selfies" and laughter thrown into the mix!
My blog is called "Beauty In the Storm" for several reasons. I'm always trying to find the nuggets of gold in life, where others only see dirt. I think it's the part of me that's always seeking to see what God wants to personally say to me in the "storm" seasons. I think that God always has something beautiful to show us - and through those revelations - we grow.

Through this blog, my goal is to help you feel less alone on your journey. To remind you of your worth, and to help you see that no storm lasts forever - there is always a rainbow, or a sunrise that can be found on the other side.
I’ve been married to my warrior, Eliseo for 29 years. We met in Oregon, at church... and our life together has been a true adventure.

Eliseo and I have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 1 daughter-in-la and 1 son-in-law.. Each one is such a blessing and joy.
Our family currently lives in Texas. My husband and I hail from Oregon, and then from Idaho, where we lived for 15 years. We now love soaking up the warmer weather here in Texas - a gift that God has given us and one that we don't take for granted after many years of snow, ice, and frigid cold winters!
First and foremost, I'm a wife and mom. My family is so dear and precious to me. But - as for my writing and online presence.....
In addition to this blog, I'm honored to be the Director of Communications for the Marriage Initiative, National Marriage Week, and San Antonio Marriage Initiative.
Everything I do, is a representation of my heart. I am so humbled and honored to work and meet some amazing people across the U.S.

I'm a very honest person. I am passionate about right and wrong, and I adore the sunshine and warm weather. I am very patriotic, love dark chocolate, and even though I love a good salad, I can enthusiastically eat a good burger (well - done with no pink.)
And to get it out of the way - although I adore my curls and prefer them on most days, my hair is naturally straight.
I love to laugh. I grieve deeply. I have really good instincts about people - and I "snapchat" with my kids.

And I'm an Enneagram 6. With a whole lot of strength, mercy, & grace from the Lord thrown into that mixture.

This is me. No pretense. I lay my heart open, because of my love for you - and because of my love for my God. May He use it to encourage you, inspire you, and draw you closer to Him.
Write me anytime - I'd love to hear from you. madetomom@yahoo.com
and please do comment on my blog, so I know you stopped by. I read every one, and I do my best to reply.

You are loved. You are valued. YOU MATTER.

Dionna
